9 Welding Process Methods for Welding Steel Pipe

1. High frequency resistance welding
It uses the skin effect and proximity effect of high frequency current to rapidly heat the edge of the tube blank and make it reach the melting state. The method of extruding and dissolving the metal under the action of the extruding roller is used to realize the welding.

2. The submerged arc welding
Welding arc is a method of arc welding under the covering of flux. Weld metal molten pool is solidified into welds under the protection of flux coating and the solder melt layer is cooled to cover the outer surface of the weld.

3. Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG)
It uses pure tungsten or activated tungsten (thorium tungsten, cerium tungsten, etc.) as inert gas shielded welding tungsten inert gas, which is referred to as TIG welding. It is under the protection of the inert gas, using the tungsten electrode and welding parts of the arc hot melting mother material and the filler wire of a kind of welding method.

4. Welding (GMAW) of molten inert gas
Soldering is used to protect the inert gas welding electrode.

5.CO2 gas shielded welding
The gas welding electrode is shielded by the CO2 with a purity greater than 99.8 %.

6. Mixed gas shielded welding
A gas is shielded by a mixture of two or more gases in a certain proportion.

Argon arc welding: argon gas is used as gas protection welding.

7. Pulse argon arc welding
The ionization channel of the main arc is maintained by the base value current and the pulse electric arc is generated periodically by the pulse current of the high peak value of the same polarity, which is used to melt the metal and control the argon arc welding.

8. Plasma arc welding
It is the method of welding the plasma arc with high energy density by using the water cooling nozzle to restrict the arc.

9. Heat soldering
In the welding process, the metal material with lower melting point than the base metal is used as brazing filler metal. The temperature of the weldment and filler metal is higher than the melting point of the solder and lower than the melting point of the base metal. The method of filling the connecting clearance and the mutual diffusion between the two parts is called brazing. The commonly used composite steel brazing method is induction brazing.
